AGI definition is same level as a human brain, that is AGI, artificial general intelligence, but people have a different point of view, definition of artificial superintelligence. How super? You know, ten times super? A hundred times super? My definition of ASI is 10,000 times super smarter than human brain. That is my definition of ASI and that is coming in 2035, ten years, ten years from today, 10,000 times smarter. That’s my prediction. Both, both. We should be looking forward to that. Of course, we have to also be careful, we have to regulate. If such a superpower comes and no regulation, it could be super dangerous.

AI Verified The quote is authentic and correctly attributed to Masayoshi Son. The provided CNN transcript page for "CNN Newsroom" (aired October 30, 2024) contains the key lines attributed to him: the AGI/ASI distinction, his definition of ASI as "10,000 times" smarter than the human brain, his 2035 prediction, and his warning that without regulation it could be "super dangerous." The submitted text matches that transcript with only minor punctuation/transcription normalization (for example, contractions and comma placement). AI Verified Verified: This matches Masayoshi Son's well-documented 2024 statements about AGI/ASI. He distinguishes AGI (human-brain level) from ASI (10,000 times smarter than humans by 2035), as confirmed by CNBC, Slashdot, AI News, and multiple other outlets. The CNN transcript URL was blocked by WebFetch but the content is consistent with Son's public statements at SoftBank's 2024 annual meeting and his October 2024 media appearances. Year 2024 is correct. The vote "for" on "Build artificial general intelligence" aligns - Son explicitly says "we should be looking forward to" both AGI and ASI, while urging regulation. · Hector Perez Arenas claude-opus-4-7 · 1mo ago
