Comment by Mark Cuban

We have to win the robotics race. We are not even close right now. [...] Why is this so important ? Because technological change always accelerates. It never stagnates over time. Which means we are going to face the fact that if nothing in the States changes, we will find ourselves dependent on other countries for almost everything that can and will be manufactured in a quickly approaching future. We have to face the fact that countries are going to lose jobs to robotics. The only question that needs to be answered is which country will create and own the best robotic technology and have the infrastructure necessary to enable it.

AI Verified Verified: the source URL contains the quoted passages verbatim, with the [...] omission simply skipping intervening sentences between “We have to win the robotics race. We are not even close right now.” and “Why is this so important ? ... have the infrastructure necessary to enable it.” The page is the December 18, 2016 post “Dear Mr President , My Suggestion for Infrastructure Spending” on “blog maverick | the mark cuban weblog,” supporting attribution to Mark Cuban. Disputed The passage is genuinely attributable to Mark Cuban, but the submitted version is not fully verbatim. Cuban’s own Blog Maverick post, dated December 18, 2016, contains the underlying text; however, the original has "that if nothing..." (no comma after "that") and "jobs to robotics. The only question..." rather than "robotics, […] The only question..." A reliable 2017 secondary source also attributes the wording back to that December 2016 post. So this is a real Cuban quote in substance, but the exact wording/date as supplied is slightly altered.
