Verification History

AI Unverifiable Cannot positively verify exact wording. The Illinois Grainger URL returns 403 to WebFetch, and the exact quoted phrasing ('Open source is powerful because everybody can help. If everything's behind closed doors, nobody can understand how it works.') does not surface in independent searches. The article does exist at the source_url (Q&A: 'Challenging assumptions makes great computer security' featuring Gang Wang, UIUC computer security professor), and search results confirm Wang's pro-open-source stance with a slightly different quote ('I'm very much in favor of open source. The protocol should be open for everybody to challenge the design...'). Author attribution is correct and the 'against' vote on 'Open-source AI is more dangerous than closed-source AI' aligns with Wang's documented pro-open-source views. But I cannot confirm the exact direct-quote text without access to the source. · Hector Perez Arenas claude-opus-4-7 · 2d ago
