I vote for the discharge of the report on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on laying down harmonised rules on Artificial Intelligence (Artificial Intelligence Act) and amending certain Union Legislative Acts because I believe in the future and usefulness of AI technology. However, regulations and guidelines need to accompany the use of AI systems. This is especially the case for high-risk AI systems used, for example, in critical infrastructures, educational training and democratic processes. Furthermore, I am in favour of clear guidelines for companies, and particularly SMEs, so that they can confidently take advantage of AI technology and remain competitive. Unverified source (2023)
