Spanish parliamentarian (Socialist Parliamentary Group)
If the Popular Group agrees to the improvements we propose, we will vote in favour. First, that AESIA publishes—according to the timetable set out in the European Artificial Intelligence Act—the evaluation procedure for AI systems, based on the risk categories determined in that regulation, in order to provide certainty and accompany the deployment of this technology in Spain. Because it is not mandatory, it is not necessary, and it is not for us to treat it as urgent until 2026 and 2027. Second, that AESIA makes available to public administrations, citizens and companies the tools needed to facilitate compliance with the obligations established in the European AI regulation. And lastly, that AESIA supports compliance with the deadlines set in the European regulation for the supervision and authorisation procedures for AI systems, so that we do not run ahead of what the regulation itself establishes.
