In this non-legislative motion we ask that the use of artificial intelligence be promoted to improve the security of all Spaniards. It is obvious that artificial intelligence is here to stay, and we must make a firm national effort to take advantage of AI’s benefits for defence and for the security of all Spaniards. And we must do this in coordination with our allies; we must do it with NATO and with the European Union, and extract the greatest advantages so that all our defence and security instruments are the best, reflect advanced innovation, and make use of all the data and all the management capabilities of artificial intelligence in this area. We ask to support ongoing efforts to create an innovation ecosystem that enables our Armed Forces to have access to artificial intelligence. Likewise, we request that the development of standards for an ethical use of artificial intelligence be promoted. This is very important. Artificial intelligence can have two sides: a very positive one, but also a rather negative one, and as public authorities, as institutions, as governments, as the international community, we have the necessary and unequivocal obligation to ensure an ethical use of new technologies and of artificial intelligence. We must also publish oversight procedures for AI systems and how they are to be incorporated into the field of defence. Unverified source (2025)
