The benefits of advanced AI will be shared. Otherwise it's not going to be a very stable world. We need international agreements about how to both manage the risks — the technical risks, the misuse risks — but also manage the power, so it's more like a democratic question, and making sure it's not a single party who can decide what to do with AI.

Quote confirmed via web search as being from Yoshua Bengio's appearance on the 80,000 Hours podcast (Episode 243, April 16, 2026). Search results confirm both the exact phrasing about "not going to be a very stable world" and Bengio's broader argument about international agreements and preventing single-party control of AI. Vote "for" the statement "The economic gains from frontier AI should be shared with every person on Earth" aligns directly with Bengio's call for benefits to be shared. WebFetch on 80000hours.org returned 403 but search confirms the attribution.
