I believe that a basic job-guarantee offers more dignity and purpose than a basic income. People need meaningful work to feel connected to their communities and to have a sense of accomplishment and self-worth.

As a writer and activist, I believe it is imperative for high-income countries to lead the fight against climate change. They have historically contributed the most to carbon emissions and have the resources to pioneer sustainable solutions. It's a moral responsibility to pave the way for a cleaner future, enabling low- and middle-income nations to develop sustainably.
