Reddit commenter on Rootclaim's COVID-19 origins debate and probabilistic models
Most of all, it's clear that bias played and continues to play a major role in their decision-making and their model. They had the opportunity to save face with their response to the judges' ruling, and unfortunately they've come out looking naive. While their previous work has produced results that were later proven to be accurate, this seems more likely due to luck and politics than the robustness of their model, which appears to be inadequate when faced with a sufficiently complex situation where the need for unbiased analysis is of greatest importance.

AI Verified Relevant: on the source page, "their model" refers to Rootclaim's COVID-origins reasoning/model, and the quote says bias affected that model and that it appears inadequate for this complex case. Nearby source context explicitly frames Rootclaim's approach and the judges' reasoning as probabilistic/Bayesian analysis, so the quote provides a determinable stance signal about the statement even without naming Bayesian analysis directly. AI Verified The quote says Rootclaim's "model" was driven by "bias" and "appears to be inadequate" for this complex question; the linked Rootclaim post presents that model as a probabilistic/Bayesian analysis of COVID origins. So the author is most likely against the claim that Bayesian analysis is the right framework here, though the criticism is aimed at Rootclaim's implementation rather than Bayes in the abstract.
