While not definitive and likely will never fully be solved entirely there are two facts that every professional agrees on now. The virus mutated and traveled through the Wuhan market, and it was not genetically created by scientists intervention. These two facts do not entirely exclude a lab leak, ie an animal brought for study with Covid precursor escaping or infecting one of the animals in the market somehow.AI Verified (Mar 10, 2026)

Relevant: the quote directly discusses whether SARS-CoV-2 came from a lab-related incident versus the Wuhan market/natural animal route, and says only a narrow, non-definitive lab-leak scenario remains possible while rejecting stronger lab-origin theories. That is enough to make the author's stance on the complete statement determinable. The author is explicitly noncommittal: they say the origin is "not definitive" and that the market evidence and lack of genetic engineering "do not entirely exclude a lab leak," meaning a lab-related incident is only left as a possibility, not endorsed over natural spillover; in context they add that this "absolutely denies the more sinister lab leak theories." The quote is on the core COVID-origin/market-location issue, not a merely adjacent topic. In the source thread it appears immediately after links to studies about animals/DNA at the Wuhan market, and the author says "the virus mutated and traveled through the Wuhan market," while discussing whether that still leaves room for some lab-leak variants. That makes a determinate stance on whether the market clustering reflects a real emergence/transmission locus, rather than just where testing concentrated, substantially more likely. The author is not neutral here: they say the virus "mutated and traveled through the Wuhan market" and present that as an agreed fact, while even their fallback lab-leak scenario still has the virus spreading via the market. That implies the market clustering reflected real early emergence/spread there, not merely where testing focused, though the quote stops short of calling it fully definitive.
