Comment by Chairmen Crawford & Mast Statement on Joint Briefing on Tech Competition with China

Export controls on semiconductor manufacturing equipment and AI chips have strengthened America’s advantage in the AI Arms Race. China is working to cheat and steal its way to winning through smuggling, distillation, and remote access of U.S. technology. America needs to secure our lead over the Chinese Communist Party by ending Beijing’s access to U.S. and allied technology and closing loopholes in our export controls. HPSCI and HFAC look forward to working with President Trump and industry to expand America’s AI dominance.
