This committee has discussed ideas such as third-party testing, a new national agency, and an international coordinating body, all of which I support. Here are some more ways to “move fast and fix things”:
Eventually, we will develop forms of AI that are provably safe and beneficial, which can then be mandated. Until then, we need real regulation and a pervasive culture of safety.

CHAI URL is blocked from WebFetch, but search results directly confirmed Stuart Russell's exact statement at the U.S. Senate hearing "Oversight of A.I.: Principles for Regulation" on July 25, 2023: "the committee has discussed ideas such as third-party testing, a new national agency, and an international coordinating body, all of which I support" along with "move fast and fix things." Vote alignment ("for" the statement "Mandate third-party audits for major AI systems") is correct - Russell explicitly supported third-party testing.
