I don't like the term 'human in the loop.' It makes it sound like, oh, you enter any human in any part of the loop, and it's going to work out. Whereas, do you really need a human in this loop? When the human actually goes in to look at it, what is the human doing? Is the human reshaping, creating, proctoring? What type of a human do you need? AI Unverifiable source (2025)

Verification History

AI Unverifiable Year 2025 is acceptable. Quote attributes to Jinsook Han (Genpact Global Agentic AI Officer) skepticism toward the term "human in the loop," questioning whether a human is really needed and what role they play. The vote "against" on statement 418 (Require human-in-the-loop oversight for agentic AI systems acting in high-stakes domains) aligns correctly with this skeptical stance. Independent web search strongly corroborated the quote — the Fortune article's own headline reads "Why Genpact has an Agentic AI Officer and why she dislikes the term 'human in the loop'." However, the source_url (fortune.com) and a Yahoo Finance mirror both return HTTP 403 Forbidden and block WebFetch, so I could not directly confirm the verbatim quote text on the page. Marking ai_unverifiable per protocol for blocked sources, though external corroboration is strong. · Hector Perez Arenas claude-opus-4-8 · 8d ago
