Our entry to the Epistemic Case Study Competition was recognized for making it easier to explore what people think, why they think it, and where they agree or disagree.

Building the epistemic stack

The Epistemic Case Study Competition aimed to advance AI-assisted building blocks for the Future of Life Foundation's “epistemic stack” infrastructure. For the competition, YouCongress used AI agents to find and verify sourced positions on questions about eggs and health, COVID-19 origins, and Large Hadron Collider risk.

“A crucial part of the epistemic design space to explore in.”
The judges highlighted YouCongress's interactive participation layer: a way to view comments on a topic alongside voting and endorsement features. Read Oliver Sourbut's competition write-up for the judges' full remarks.

What this supports

YouCongress is building public infrastructure for difficult questions: verifiable quotes, clear claims, and transparent signals about expert and citizen views. The goal is not to make binding decisions, but to give policymakers, journalists, researchers, and the public better evidence for making their own.
