Comment by Fei Wu

Nutrition researcher and coauthor of a 2021 PLOS Medicine study on egg and cholesterol consumption and mortality
Whole egg and cholesterol intakes were both positively associated with all-cause, CVD, and cancer mortality. In multivariable-adjusted models, the hazard ratios (95% confidence intervals) associated with each intake of an additional half of a whole egg per day were 1.07 (1.06-1.08) for all-cause mortality, 1.07 (1.06-1.09) for CVD mortality, and 1.07 (1.06-1.09) for cancer mortality.

Disputed The passage does appear on the cited PLOS Medicine article page, in the abstract, with the same wording apart from dash normalization in the confidence-interval ranges (the page uses en dashes: 1.06–1.08 and 1.06–1.09). The page also shows Published: February 9, 2021. However, it is not attributable to Fei Wu alone: the article is a multi-author paper credited to Pan Zhuang, Fei Wu, Lei Mao, Fanghuan Zhu, Yiju Zhang, Xiaoqian Chen, Jingjing Jiao, and Yu Zhang, and the formal citation is to “Zhuang P, Wu F, Mao L, Zhu F, Zhang Y, Chen X, et al. (2021) …”. Per the single-author verification rule, this must be marked disputed rather than verified as a Fei Wu quote.
