This map not only saved lives, it changed our understanding of disease and created a model used regularly by epidemiologists ever since. On the right is a similar map, this time of the first cases of the Covid-19 epidemic. Based on WHO data and published in Science in 2022, it provides a critical piece of evidence to support that the origins of Covid-19 were the seafood market in Wuhan (not a laboratory leak).
