There is hereby created an AI Safety Research Fund, to be administered by the BAIS and funded through annual General Appropriations. The fund shall support: (a) Independent safety and bias evaluations; (b) Grants for red-teaming and adversarial testing of AI systems; (c) Academic and policy research on long-term risks and safeguards; and (d) Development of AI safety benchmarks for national adoption.
