Yeah, nah. This is damage control. They're trying to get ahead of the recently riled up Joe Schmo who's worried AI might kill us now. They both have huge IPOs coming up and fears of an AI apocalypse could wreck their valuations. And they want to establish a procedure that would disadvantage competitors. That's moat building 101.
