Henry Papadatos, executive director of Safer AI, quoted in Rebecca Bellan, “Anthropic and OpenAI want to embed safety evaluators. Will they really be independent?”, TechCrunch, September 16, 2026. In the article’s immediately preceding context, he says voluntary AI-evaluator measures depend on company goodwill; “this” refers to the proposal for frontier AI companies to embed independent third-party evaluators with employee-like access.
