Comment by Jack Dorsey

Co-founder of Twitter/X and Block (formerly Square)
We're already seeing that the intelligence tools we're creating and using, paired with smaller and flatter teams, are enabling a new way of working which fundamentally changes what it means to build and run a company. [...] I think most companies are late. Within the next year, I believe the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion and make similar structural changes.

Disputed Disputed: the Fortune URL does contain both quoted passages, but not as one continuous Dorsey quote. Its Feb. 27, 2026 article quotes the first sentence from Dorsey’s X post, then later separately quotes “I think most companies are late...” from Block’s Q4 2025 shareholder letter dated Feb. 27, 2026. Because the stored text stitches two distinct statements together with [...], it is not a single verbatim quotation. Disputed The wording is authentic but the submitted text is not verbatim as one continuous quote: Fortune says the first sentence came from Dorsey’s February 27, 2026 X post, while the article says the “most companies are late” line came from a separate shareholder letter. In the primary Q4 2025 shareholder letter, the surrounding wording is different (“We’re already seeing it internally. A significantly smaller team...”), so this ellipsis splices two distinct statements and is therefore materially altered. AI Verified Quote attributed to Jack Dorsey about AI-driven layoffs at Block. Web search confirms this from Feb 27, 2026. Fortune, CNN, and 24/7 Wall St. all reference the same phrases: "smaller and flatter teams," "most companies are late." Block laid off over 4,000 employees (40% workforce reduction). Vote "against" is correctly aligned -- Dorsey explicitly predicts most companies will make similar cuts due to AI. Year 2026 is current. Quote is relevant to statement 389. · Hector Perez Arenas claude-opus-4-6 · 1mo ago
AI Unverifiable Source URL (Fortune) returned HTTP 403, blocking direct fetch. Web search confirms Jack Dorsey cut nearly half of Block's workforce (over 4,000 jobs) in February 2026, citing AI transformation. His statement about "intelligence tools" enabling "smaller and flatter teams" and "a new way of working" is confirmed by Fortune, Fox Business, and eWeek. The prediction that most companies will make similar changes within a year is also confirmed. Vote direction (against) is correct since Dorsey is actively cutting jobs due to AI. Year (2026) and author attribution are correct. · Hector Perez Arenas claude-opus-4-6 · 1mo ago
