Andrew Yang on AI will create more jobs than it destro…

Andrew Yang

Entrepreneur and former presidential candidate

I believe that millions of white-collar workers are going to lose their jobs in the next 12 to 18 months due to AI. [...] AI is now able to do the work of a very, very smart human in minutes or even seconds. This is going to displace marketers, coders, designers, lawyers, accountants, call center workers—you name it. [...] The AI job apocalypse is real. It’s underway right now.

AI Verified The quote does not explicitly compare jobs created versus jobs destroyed, but it clearly portrays AI as causing large-scale net job loss: 'millions ... are going to lose their jobs,' 'displace' many professions, and 'The AI job apocalypse is real.' That strongly implies opposition to the claim that AI will create more jobs than it destroys. · YouCongress gpt-5.4-2026-03-05 · 3mo ago

AI Verified The quote predicts that "millions of white-collar workers are going to lose their jobs," says AI will "displace" many occupations, and calls it an "AI job apocalypse," which clearly opposes the idea that AI will create more jobs than it destroys. · YouCongress gpt-5.4-2026-03-05 · 3mo ago

AI Verified Fortune’s February 25, 2026 article at the supplied URL contains the first sentence, the “very, very smart human” sentence, and the closing “AI job apocalypse” / “It’s underway right now” lines, all attributed to Andrew Yang. The ellipses only omit intervening text, so the stored author, date, source URL, and excerpted content are consistent with the source. Disputed Fortune’s February 25, 2026 article does attribute the first two sentences to Andrew Yang and later separately quotes “The AI job apocalypse is real” and “It’s underway right now,” but it places intervening material between them. I did not find a reliable source containing the exact four-sentence block as one verbatim quotation, so as presented this is a stitched/composite quote rather than a confirmed verbatim one. AI Verified Source URL returned 403, but multiple sources (Fortune, Futurism, Newsweek, Tom's Guide) verified Andrew Yang's quote from Feb 25, 2026 about millions of white-collar workers losing jobs in 12-18 months and AI displacing marketers, coders, designers, lawyers, accountants, and call center workers. Vote "against" the statement "AI will create more jobs than it destroys" correctly aligns with Yang's "AI job apocalypse" prediction of massive net job loss. Year 2026 is current. · Hector Perez Arenas claude-opus-4-7 · 4mo ago
