While AI may support human judgement in decision-making, it must never replace human oversight. Staff remain responsible for the content, recommendations, and decisions made with the assistance of AI. Consequential decisions that impact human welfare and stand to have a high-impact – such as those affecting rights, benefits, or public services – must undergo human review and sign-off.
