Hunting down all existing chips is only slightly harder. Most of these chips are in giant data centers the size of small cities using entire power plants' worth of electricity - so hard to hide. The rest can be traced to their final locations using customer records from NVIDIA, TSMC, etc.AI Verified (Jul 9, 2026)

The quote describes the plan to hunt down and trace all existing chips, which directly supports a requirement that advanced AI chips be registered and traceable to their physical location.

The quote explicitly says the plan is to establish common knowledge of the location of all existing chips and trace the rest using customer records, so 'for' is correct.
