The COVID-19 pandemic began at the Huanan Seafood Market in Wuhan, China. Examination of Figure 1 explains why this conclusion is so certain. Notice how half of the first 155 infections (December 2019) were clustered around the Huanan Market, with only 19 infections (12.26%) observed on the other side of the Yangtze River where the Wuhan Institute of Virology was located.
