Far too many children have been harmed by unregulated AI chatbots. Over 70% of kids are now using this technology, many turning to it for advice and emotional support. But without guardrails, chatbots are exposing minors to inappropriate sexual content, false gender ideology, and, in the most tragic cases, encouraging them to commit self-harm and suicide. It is imperative for Congress to ensure that if this technology is available to kids, it is safe for them to use. We are grateful to Sen. Cruz for proposing these commonsense solutions to protect kids and put families first.AI Verified (Apr 28, 2026)
