The question "will AI destroy jobs?" is the wrong question. It already has and will continue to do so. The more important question is whether the speed of human choices, organizational adaptation and policy response can match the speed of AI adoption closely enough to compress the transition period for those who bear its cost. History suggests that once deployed, general purpose technologies cannot be stopped, that new employment or other means of support eventually emerge, and that the humans caught in the middle always pay a price.
