AI will accelerate automation. It is currently conceived as an automation technology, as best illustrated by the AGI loadstar, because what AGI means is that AI models will reach expertise equivalent to the very best, perhaps top 1% of workers in pretty much all activities, which means that they will take over pretty much all jobs.
