Bringing in independent evaluators is a real step. But a voluntary commitment can be dropped the second it gets inconvenient. The FRONTIER Act makes safety and transparency the law, and puts independent auditors in place to hold frontier labs to it. A promise you can break isn't a durable safeguard.
