AI systems should not be granted legal personhood, nor should they be designed to mimic personhood in ways that shield companies from accountability or diminish the spiritual essence of humanity. Legal responsibility for the actions and impacts of AI must rest with the providers who develop and deploy these systems, rather than being shifted onto the systems themselves.
