Agentic AI has no legal personality. As the UK Jurisdiction Taskforce's July 2026 Legal Statement on Liability for AI Harms confirms, an AI system cannot itself be liable; responsibility attaches to a legal person through ordinary principles, primarily contract and, failing that, negligence.
