Simply: Alignment is solvable because we can meaningfully load human values into LLMs and they can generalize them to a wide variety of situations.

AI alignment is solvable

Alignment is tractable because we can meaningfully load human values into LLMs and they can generalize them to a wide variety of situations. Alignment is not solved because it does not yet generalize nearly as far as we would like.
