A basic income guarantee is a neo-liberal strategy for serfdom without the work ... In addition to a Job Guarantee we also demand a Services Guarantee. It is no good having a bare minimum income if the dentists and doctors and shops in your town are closed and the public transport system is deficient.

Source URL bilbo.economicoutlook.net (now billmitchell.org) returns 403/blocks WebFetch. Web search confirms Bill Mitchell's blog post titled exactly 'A basic income guarantee is a neo-liberal strategy for serfdom without the work' at the matching URL ID (?p=35705). Mitchell is a well-known MMT economist who consistently opposes BIG/UBI in favor of a Job Guarantee. The quote's framing about Job Guarantee + Services Guarantee aligns with his standard MMT argument. Vote 'against' on 'Implement a universal basic income' aligns clearly. Note: search indicates publication date April 2017, while opinion is marked 2016 — minor discrepancy. Cannot directly verify via WebFetch so marking ai_unverifiable.
