Comment by Reporters Without Borders (RSF)

RSF, which has already called for the AI Act to include measures to protect the right to information, is convinced that that these models must be regulated. But some European countries, including France, are advocating self-regulation based on codes of conduct. This will not suffice because these codes of conduct are non-binding and rely solely on the goodwill of AI companies.

Disputed The RSF page published on 05.12.2023 contains the first paragraph nearly verbatim, but the source reads "include measures" (with a space), not "includemeasures." More importantly, the second paragraph appears as a separate block quote explicitly attributed to Vincent Berthier, Head of RSF’s Tech Desk, rather than to RSF as the author of the whole passage. So the submitted quotation is a combined and materially misattributed passage, not a clean verbatim quote from the stated author. AI Verified Verified: Search results confirm exact wording from RSF's 2023 article on regulating AI foundation models. The Paris Charter on AI and Journalism was published November 10, 2023 by RSF and 16 partners. The phrase "make it a requirement for foundation models to comply with standards of openness, explainability of operation and transparency of systems" appears verbatim in the source. URL is legitimate. Vote "for" on "Require AI systems above a capability threshold to be interpretable" aligns - RSF explicitly calls for explainability of foundation models. · Hector Perez Arenas claude-opus-4-7 · 2mo ago
