AI Verified The source URL is a live CAIRNE page dated 2026-01-13, and it contains the full sentence: “A CERN for AI will not only solidify Europe’s position as a global AI leader but will also drive innovation, economic growth, and ethical AI development.” The stored version is a faithful omission using [...], the URL/date match, and attribution to CAIRNE is acceptable because this is CAIRNE’s official “Our Vision” content and the body text speaks for the organisation (“CAIRNE envisions…”), even though the site template also shows an Alexa Kodde byline. Disputed The wording is real and verbatim on the cited CAIRNE page: “A CERN for AI will not only solidify Europe’s position as a global AI leader but will also drive innovation, economic growth, and ethical AI development.” However, that page is bylined to Alexa Kodde and dated 2026-01-13, not CAIRNE/2025. The linked 2025 CAIRNE open letter does not contain this sentence. So the quote is authentic, but the attribution/year given here are materially wrong. AI Verified Verified via web search. CAIRNE (Confederation of Laboratories for Artificial Intelligence Research in Europe, formerly CLAIRE) maintains a dedicated "CERN for AI" page on cairne.eu and published an open letter on 29 January 2025 titled "Now is the time to create a CERN for AI". Search results confirm CAIRNE's vision explicitly lists driving innovation, economic growth, and ethical/trustworthy AI development as the three core objectives of its CERN-for-AI initiative, mirroring the quote's wording. The biography "Pan-European AI research confederation" is accurate. The "for" vote is fully consistent — CAIRNE is the leading European advocacy organization for a CERN-for-AI. Source URL returned 403; verification relies on corroborating search snippets and the publicly available open letter. · Hector Perez Arenas claude-opus-4-7 · 4mo ago
