As jurisdictions introduce AI incident reporting requirements with differing definitions and thresholds, developing shared taxonomies and standards can help harmonize reporting, enable coordinated responses, and ensure incident data informs policy and mitigation strategies. Because companies often face reputational and commercial disincentives to disclose incidents, international cooperation is needed to establish institutional roles and governance mechanisms for cross-border incident infrastructure.
