Comment by Jeff Bezos

I know there’s a lot of concern that many people have, including many smart people, that AI is going to make humans redundant and so on. I totally disagree with this point of view. And I think, in fact, AI is going to create a labor shortage.

AI Verified Yes. In the article, Reuters summarizes Bezos’s view as AI causing labor shortages rather than replacing humans, and the quote itself rejects the idea that AI will make people redundant. Together, that clearly supports the full claim that AI will create more jobs than it destroys. AI Verified The quote is strongly supportive: Bezos says he "totally disagree[s]" that AI will make humans redundant and instead predicts AI will "create a labor shortage." In the source context, Reuters paraphrases this as AI causing labour shortages, "not the replacement of humans," which strongly implies he expects AI to create more jobs/demand for labor than it destroys. · YouCongress gpt-5.4-2026-03-05 · 2h ago
