Anthropic employee and signatory to the July 2026 Pacing the Frontier statement.
AI systems carry risks to safety, to labor markets, to democratic institutions, to the environment that are too consequential to be left to voluntary industry commitments alone. We need binding regulatory oversight of frontier AI development and deployment now, before it's too late. This technology holds enormous potential to benefit the planet and everyone on it, but that potential won't come to fruition without proper regulation.
