Congress now has an opportunity to protect AI whistleblowers. The bipartisan AI Whistleblower Protection Act would protect AI workers from retaliation when they report an employer’s failure to respond to a “substantial and specific danger” posed by AI. That is an important first step; workers should not have to identify a broken law before warning us about a risk lawmakers have yet to regulate.
