AI policy researcher; founder of AVERI (AI Verification Initiative); former OpenAI Head of Policy Research
Frontier AI auditors should receive deep, secure access to non-public information of various kinds — including model internals, training processes, compute allocation, governance records, and staff interviews — proportional to the audit’s scope and the level of assurance being sought for the audit. Auditors must be genuinely independent third parties, free from commercial or political influence.
