Comment by Jorge Riechmann

Poet, mathematician, philosopher, ecologist and political scientist.
Verification History

AI Unverifiable Source URL (http://tratarde.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/APUNTES-SOBRE-EL-TRABAJO-Y-LOS-TIEMPOS-HUMANOS.ppt) returns HTTP 403 and is not fetchable by AI. Tried direct fetch, archive.org, and Google viewer — all blocked. Other checks: (1) Vote alignment is correct — the quote clearly criticizes UBI ("Todas las versiones de la RB... presuponen la perpetuación del capitalismo... llevan a una sociedad dual... choca contra la perspectiva ecologista") and the registered vote is "against" the statement "Implement a universal basic income". (2) Author attribution is plausible — Jorge Riechmann is a well-known Spanish ecosocialist philosopher whose published work consistently argues that capitalism cannot be reformed via redistributive measures alone, that automation-based abundance scenarios conflict with ecological limits, and that solutions must address production and ecological boundaries (consistent with the quote's content). The PPT title "APUNTES SOBRE EL TRABAJO Y LOS TIEMPOS HUMANOS" (2014) matches a known Riechmann presentation theme. (3) Year 2014 is older than 2025/2026, but a search for an updated direct Riechmann quote on UBI yielding equivalent specific wording was not successful, so the original cannot be replaced confidently.
