Getting a monthly cheque could mean not having to take the first crappy job that appears if you get fired or the economy tanks (...) Those crappy jobs might be easier to resist for a while but they might also get a bit crappier if employers know the state is effectively giving them a subsidy that keeps workers out of the most desperate poverty.

The article title and content are clearly critical of UBI, so the "against" vote on statement 224 ("Implement a universal basic income") aligns with the author's position. Author attribution to Michal Rozworski (lefty economist) is consistent. Year 2016 is correct (article dated April 2016). I could not locate a more recent (2025/2026) Rozworski quote on UBI to replace it.
