Comment by OpenAI

OpenAI has long believed there should ultimately be an international organization that helps coordinate leading AI efforts to reduce catastrophic risk. One goal of such an organization should be to make it possible for the world to take coordinated action, including slowing frontier development when needed, so societal resilience, safety, and alignment can keep pace.

Disputed The OpenAI page dated 2026-06-08 contains similar text at lines 48-49, but the stored quote is not verbatim: it begins "We have long believed," not "OpenAI has long believed." The page is credited to Sam Altman and Jakub Pachocki, so this is not a verifiable single-author or organisation-authored OpenAI quote. Disputed The official OpenAI page dated June 8, 2026 does contain this passage, but not verbatim as submitted: the article reads, “We have long believed there should ultimately be an international organization…” rather than “OpenAI has long believed…”. The second sentence matches, but the first is altered. The source page is “Built to benefit everyone: our plan,” credited on-page to Sam Altman and Jakub Pachocki, with OpenAI as the publisher.
