An AI agent is not a legal person, and in our law liability for this type of incident always sits with a person or a company. The liability has to be traced back to the intent of a person or a company that created or directed the agent.

This project, led by CSIRO with support from AISI and our UK partners, explores how humans can oversee and verify capable AI systems at scale.

Because the point of AI safety is not to slow the future down. It is to make sure the future remains human, aligned with our values, and advancing our interests.

Decisions about data use, algorithmic management, surveillance, safety and reskilling are too consequential to be left solely to executives or engineers.
