Misalignment is a still-unsolved technical problem, as the Hugging Face incident made clear, and it will only be amplified by more intelligent models. Solving the alignment problem may require a global slowdown of the frontier, including internal deployment. The world should have the mechanism to coordinate this, and it currently does not.
