Good AI policy requires independent verification of safety. AB 1405 will take a significant step in creating the ecosystem for independent verification to become a reality. By working in concert with Sen. McNerney we are building a framework where California leads the way in creating a system of independent, verified auditors and known standards that protect our communities from AI harms and unchecked power in the hands of a few companies.

AI Verified The quote clearly supports requiring independent, outside review of AI safety: it says good AI policy "requires independent verification of safety" and praises building "a system of independent, verified auditors." That directly implies support for mandating third-party audits, including for major AI systems. · YouCongress gpt-5.4-2026-03-05 · 2h ago

AI Verified The quote strongly implies support: it says "Good AI policy requires independent verification of safety" and praises creating "a system of independent, verified auditors and known standards." While it does not explicitly say "mandate" or specify "major AI systems," that wording supports third-party audits for significant AI systems. · YouCongress gpt-5.4-2026-03-05 · 2h ago
